ABOUT
ABOUT ME
All I wanted to do when I was young was write. I sat at the kitchen table, asking my mom for spelling help as I crafted my story books. I'm still at it, except I've moved on to non-fiction, like my adventures dating across the aisle. I also tell other people's stories: think bisexual activists, hostel managers, and an ex-Catholic priest-turned-anarchist.
WHAT I'VE DONE
I'm an assistant editor at 5280, Denver's city magazine, where I pitch, write, and edit stories for the front of book section. Before that, I broke news at the Des Moines Register and interned at Midwest Living. I know collaboration is needed to produce an amazing product, and I love to be part of a team. Check out my portfolio below for a sampling of my work.
WHAT I DO
I chase down sources. I ask questions, even the tough ones. I find inspiration everywhere. I edit, micro and macro. I listen, research, and transcribe. I write magazine articles, podcast scripts, personal essays, and news clips. I put together a mean service package. I drink copious amounts of coffee. I take risks. Most of all, I discover and tell stories.
